About

My name is Mark Howard, I am currently a professional footballer for Wrexham AFC.

The purpose of this blog is to give real insight into the life of a goalkeeper that heads out on loan from his parent club to either gain experience or cover for a short term. I will try to highlight some of the pros and cons involved.

Football aside, here is a little background on me.

I am currently studying for a Professional Sportswriting & Broadcasting degree with Staffordshire University whilst working as a football consultant for an agency, advising their young players especially the goalkeepers as they work hard to make it as a professional footballer.

I have a willingness to pass on my knowledge and love for the game, I thought through coaching I would not reach a large enough audience so instead opted to start my own dedicated goalkeeper podcast (The Yours, Mine Away! Podcast). It is proving highly successful and an untapped market as all levels of football across the globe are included and discussed.

As I continue with my career, I know that I have limited playing time left so trying to ensure my future stays within the game that I have always loved.

My aim is to write and cover my own and other goalkeeper’s experiences of being a ‘out on loan’ all for different objectives.

I hope you enjoy the blog.

Mark
